Mechanical Design Engineer – CATIA V5 & Windchill

About the role

SEGULA Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop innovative mechanical solutions for aerospace motor and power generation projects. The role focuses on creating robust designs that meet cost, weight and manufacturing targets, using CATIA V5 and Windchill within R&D and R&T programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise mechanical designs for smart motor and power generation technologies.
• Lead engineering work‑packages, ensuring designs are fit for purpose and meet customer requirements.
• Produce and maintain CAD models, drawings and parts lists compliant with company standards.
• Generate design assurance documentation, including design reports, test procedures and stress/tolerance analyses.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (stress, thermal, supply chain, validation, quality) to deliver design‑to‑cost and design‑to‑manufacture solutions.
• Support product introduction processes (PROMPT & DEVELOP) and participate in gateway reviews.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and risk mitigation for new and existing products.
• Report progress and KPI milestones to lead engineers.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in aerospace or related sectors.
• Hands‑on experience with CATIA V5 and Windchill for CAD modelling and data management.
• Ability to produce detailed engineering documentation and perform stress, thermal and tolerance analyses.
• Familiarity with product introduction processes and engineering gate reviews.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
