Boilermaker – Welding & Fabrication Specialist

About the role

The Boilermaker will carry out welding repairs, fabrication, and modification of equipment on site in Gabon. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager, the role combines hands‑on technical work with safety leadership and mentoring of junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Perform boiler‑making, welding, fabrication, and field fitting of repaired or modified components.
• Promote safety, identify hazards, report incidents and near‑misses, and ensure compliance with HSE and legislative requirements.
• Inspect work in progress, maintain quality standards, and complete job record reports and daily timesheets.
• Assist with sourcing, inventory control, and management of welding equipment, consumables, and steel stocks.
• Provide on‑the‑job training and mentorship to team members and coordinate training schedules.
• Support the development of maintenance welding and fabrication procedures and minimise waste of consumables and PPE.
• Carry out preventative maintenance tasks as defined in the maintenance program.

Required profile

• Minimum secondary education completed.
• Certified welding qualifications.
• At least 3 years of welding and boiler‑making experience in the drilling/exploration industry.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment medical and work on a roster with travel as required.
