Maintenance Superintendent

About the role

Assala Energy is seeking a Maintenance Superintendent to lead maintenance activities across its Gabon assets. You will be responsible for turbo‑machinery, rotating equipment, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and HVAC systems, ensuring reliability and safety while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of maintenance personnel, providing guidance and support.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize asset reliability.
• Plan, schedule and allocate resources for all maintenance tasks, ensuring timely execution.
• Manage relationships with contractors and service providers, controlling quality and budget.
• Monitor performance metrics, identify improvement areas and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and promote a strong safety culture.
• Collaborate with other departments to optimise maintenance strategies and achieve cost savings.
• Enter and maintain accurate data in SAP and ensure all maintenance information is correctly reported.
• Participate in root‑cause analysis and incident investigations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of maintenance management experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proven leadership of maintenance teams and delivery of results.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance best practices, reliability engineering and asset management.
• Sound understanding of HSE regulations and standards.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical and communication skills.
• Fluency in French and willingness to travel to various sites.

Required skills

• Experience with CMMS systems.
• Proficiency in SAP for maintenance data management.
• Use of maintenance planning tools.
