Production Engineer

About the role

Assala Gabon is seeking an experienced Production Engineer to join its site‑based Production Team. The role is critical for safe, efficient and reliable hydrocarbon production across the company’s asset portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Promote a strong HSE culture, ensure compliance with Permit to Work, company policies and emergency response procedures.
• Optimise production performance, availability and uptime of oil‑producing, water‑ and gas‑injection wells and associated facilities.
• Coordinate routine field activities such as pigging, scraping, well testing and basic wellhead maintenance.
• Maintain high‑quality production data, supervise well testing, production surveillance and data quality assurance, and prepare regular production reports.
• Support planning and execution of drilling, completion, workover activities and facility tie‑ins, and liaise with maintenance teams to minimise downtime.
• Develop and update operating procedures, provide technical troubleshooting and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Production Engineer in oil and gas upstream operations.
• Ability to work onsite and collaborate with operations, subsurface, maintenance, drilling and planning teams.
• Strong focus on safety, environmental stewardship and asset integrity.
