Operations Manager – Offshore Production

About the role

The Operations Manager oversees all offshore production and operational activities for BWE assets in Gabon, ensuring delivery of services at the highest standards while aligning with business growth and safety strategies. The role includes planning, directing, and managing human and material resources, as well as coordinating with project teams, contractors, and government agencies. The manager is accountable for budget control, performance monitoring, and compliance with HSE and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage field production operations for BWE assets.
• Coordinate field development with drilling, SURF, construction, and FPSO teams.
• Oversee performance of production and crude oil removal operations.
• Prepare and control operating budgets, including FPSO variance orders.
• Ensure all staff and contractor activities comply with HSE standards.
• Maintain compliance with regulations, environmental and corporate objectives.
• Coordinate production, well workover, drilling, and completion phases.
• Manage helicopter and vessel logistics for field operations.
• Liaise with local contractors and Gabonese government agencies (DGH, DGE) for hazard studies and EIAs.
• Monitor well productivity daily using production monitoring techniques.
• Work with field staff to meet production targets and cost controls.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers and geologists to optimize well and field development.
• Identify wells for production boost and recommend improvement procedures.
• Develop short‑ and long‑term production plans and forecasts.
• Supervise well start‑up procedures, including artificial lift systems.
• Advise management and engineering teams on production optimization and oil recovery.
