Content Moderator (Trust and Safety Specialist)

About the role

The Content Moderator (Trust & Safety Specialist) ensures that user‑generated content on the platform complies with policies, legal standards, and community expectations. Working remotely, you will protect the online environment by reviewing text, images, and videos, and taking decisive action on violations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and act on reported content, focusing on high‑priority queues and edge cases that require human judgment.
• Monitor daily queues to detect emerging abuse patterns and promptly escalate to the Policy team.
• Provide feedback on moderation tool efficiency and suggest workflow improvements.
• Maintain a high accuracy rate (95%+) on moderation decisions and participate in calibration sessions.
• Investigate removal or suspension cases, handling reinstatement requests fairly.
• Serve as a designated responder during “red‑alert” situations such as graphic live events or coordinated harassment campaigns.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in content moderation, trust & safety, or community management for a major tech/social media platform.
• Strong emotional resilience and ability to review disturbing content without compromising well‑being.
• Deep understanding of regional nuances, cultural sensitivities, and the distinction between hate speech and protected speech.
• Proven ability to maintain quality metrics while processing high volumes (80‑100+ items per hour).
• Attention to detail and capacity to stay focused on repetitive tasks.

Required skills

• Proficiency with moderation tools such as Hive, Besedo, and Salesforce.
• Competence in Google Workspace.
