Reservoir Engineer

About the role

Assala Gabon is looking for a motivated Reservoir Engineer to join its integrated asset development team. You will support the Senior Reservoir Engineer in well‑test design, reservoir analysis, and production reporting, contributing to the sustainable development of our oil and gas assets.

Key responsibilities

• Perform fundamental reservoir engineering tasks such as field and well reviews, production and injection analysis, and well‑test design and interpretation.
• Build, history‑match, and run dynamic 3D reservoir simulation models (full, sector, conceptual) tailored to each case.
• Apply classical techniques – Material Balance, Nodal Analysis, Decline Curve Analysis – to support models and generate quick production forecasts.
• Develop and evaluate redevelopment plans (new wells, side‑tracks, workovers, water injection, artificial lift, chemical jobs) with robust scenario‑based forecasts.
• Participate in peer reviews, knowledge‑sharing sessions, and well‑by‑well project reviews under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Identify reserve‑increase opportunities, draft proposals, and assist in defining production and injection strategies aligned with asset goals.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Reservoir Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in a reservoir engineering role.
• Prior experience in West Africa or pre‑salt reservoirs is a plus.
• Proven track record of adding value to mature reservoirs through optimization and redevelopment.
