Remote Medical Coder

About the role

We are looking for a meticulous Remote Medical Coder to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will apply US or UK coding standards to complex patient records, ensuring accurate reimbursement and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Review patient records, operative reports, discharge summaries and assign appropriate ICD‑10, CPT, HCPCS, OPCS‑4 or SNOMED CT codes.
• Ensure coding complies with federal, state, NHS or payer guidelines to support revenue cycle management.
• Identify documentation gaps, query clinicians and resolve coding errors.
• Address claim denials and optimize reimbursement.
• Maintain high data integrity, participate in audits and stay current with coding updates.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of hospital coding experience (inpatient or outpatient) in the US or UK.
• Active certification from AAPC/AHIMA (CPC, CCS, CIC, COC) or equivalent UK credential.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and pharmacology.
• Proficiency with EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, EMIS Web or SystmOne.
• Excellent attention to detail and pattern recognition.
• Reliable computer (Windows 10/11 or macOS 12+), high‑speed internet and backup power supply.
• Quiet, secure, HIPAA/GDPR‑compliant workspace.
