Remote Accountant – US GAAP/UK GAAP Expertise

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Accountant to join our remote team. The role involves managing daily accounting operations, ensuring tax compliance, and delivering accurate financial reports in line with US GAAP or UK GAAP/IFRS.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily financial transactions, including expenses, revenue and invoices in the general ledger.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements (balance sheet, profit & loss) complying with the relevant accounting standards.
• Perform bank reconciliations, monitor accounts payable/receivable and ensure tax compliance.
• Compute tax payments, prepare tax returns and process payroll in accordance with local regulations.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and expense analysis to identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience as an Accountant or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP or UK Accounting Principles (IFRS/UK GAAP).
• Professional certification preferred (CPA for US, ACCA/ACA/CIMA for UK).
• Excellent analytical ability, attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage or SAP.
