Track Renewal Project Manager (Railway)

About the role

SETRAG, the operator of Gabon's railway network, is seeking a Track Renewal Project Manager to act as the Owner's Representative for a €250 million track renewal programme. You will oversee the design, execution and handover of sleeper, rail, ballast and related infrastructure works across a 648 km line, ensuring safety, cost control and schedule adherence.

Key responsibilities

• Represent the owner on all track renewal projects, including sleeper replacement, rail renewal, ballast works, station upgrades and bridge interventions.
• Lead and coordinate internal teams, external engineering firms and construction contractors, managing resources and expenditures.
• Plan logistics, procurement and supply chain for multiple worksites while maintaining uninterrupted railway traffic.
• Drive project reviews, prepare investment authorisation files, manage contracts and mitigate risks.
• Negotiate financing terms and resolve arbitrations related to the project scope.
• Ensure compliance with railway safety, occupational health, environmental regulations and propose technical solutions when traffic windows are constrained.
• Collaborate with other project components and the Network Capacity Enhancement Plan.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or engineering qualification in civil engineering or construction.
• Minimum 10 years of operational experience in engineering, project ownership or contracting within railway or large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong commitment to railway safety, occupational health and environmental standards.
