Well Completion & Intervention Manager

About the role

Assala Energy is a dynamic Oil and Gas Exploration and Production company committed to sustainable development. We are seeking an experienced Completion & Well Intervention (CWI) Manager to lead and oversee all CWI activities across our operations in Gabon. Reporting to the Wells Manager, the role is responsible for planning, engineering, execution, and evaluation of well completion and intervention programs, ensuring alignment with technical standards and HSE policies.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, engineer, and execute well completions, workovers, and interventions such as slickline, stimulation, and coil tubing.
• Define completion methods, equipment selection, and well integrity barriers aligned with company standards.
• Control CWI budgets, optimize resource utilization, and manage contractors.
• Enforce safety standards and good oilfield practices across all operations.
• Develop strategies, procedures, and KPIs to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Represent CWI in technical reviews, scheduling, and operational controls; provide expertise from completion through abandonment.
• Author and maintain company rules, practices, and standards for CWI operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 15 years’ experience in CWI operations, including 7+ years in supervisory roles.
• Proven track record in well design, workovers, and interventions.
• Expert knowledge of completions (lower/upper), artificial lift, well integrity, and HSSE standards.
• Proficiency in production optimization and nodal analysis.
• Familiarity with reservoir-to-wellbore interface, nodal analysis, and materials selection.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Proven ability to manage contractors and cross‑functional teams.
• Analytical mindset with commercial awareness.
• Fluent in English; French is an asset.
