About the role
We are seeking a Senior Inspector specialized in hydrocarbons to lead inspection, testing, and measurement activities across terminals, vessels, storage facilities, refineries and other oil & gas sites. The role requires independent, accurate work that complies with company procedures, client requirements and international standards.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct and supervise inspections, testing, sampling and cargo verification at various oil & gas locations.
- Perform quantity and quality measurements of petroleum, chemical and bulk products, including sampling, gauging, temperature and density checks.
- Review and verify inspection data, calculations, certificates and reports for accuracy.
- Coordinate with clients, vessel crews, terminal staff, laboratories and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of assignments.
- Identify and report discrepancies, contamination, quality issues and operational incidents.
- Prepare inspection reports, certificates, Letters of Protest and statements of facts.
- Provide technical guidance to junior inspectors and support competency development.
- Ensure compliance with QHSE policies, safe working practices and PPE requirements.
- Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment according to company standards.
- Support the Operations Manager in resolving technical and operational issues.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree, diploma or relevant technical qualification in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Marine Studies or a related field (preferred).
- 5–7 years of experience in oil & gas inspection, cargo surveying, petroleum measurement or related services.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards such as API, ASTM and ISO.
- Experience with vessel, terminal, tank, pipeline and refinery inspections.
- Proven ability to conduct sampling, gauging, measurement and calculation activities.
