Risk Analyst – Remote (Worldwide)

About the role

The Risk Analyst will join a globally distributed team to identify, assess, and mitigate operational, financial, regulatory, and reputational risks. Working remotely, you will analyze large data sets, uncover abuse patterns, and help shape the company’s risk strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor platform data to detect emerging threats such as payment fraud, account takeovers, spam, phishing, and synthetic identity networks.
• Query large datasets using SQL, Python, or R to quantify the scale and impact of abusive behavior.
• Design and implement rules, models, and workflows that block high‑risk activity while preserving a smooth experience for legitimate users.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Finance, and Legal to embed risk controls throughout the product lifecycle and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Act as a primary responder during large‑scale fraud spikes, making rapid decisions to contain losses.
• Build dashboards and reports to track key risk indicators and communicate findings to leadership.
• Provide feedback on internal risk tools and work with engineers to improve detection automation.
• Evaluate third‑party risk intelligence vendors and integrate relevant feeds.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in risk analysis, fraud intelligence, trust & safety, or financial crime investigations within tech, e‑commerce, or fintech.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to turn raw, messy data into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting technical findings to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with global compliance frameworks such as AML, KYC, GDPR, or PSD2.
