Piping Supervisor – Construction Projects

About the role

Assala Energy is seeking a Piping Supervisor to lead construction activities on brown‑field oil and gas projects in Gabon. Reporting to the Projects Construction Superintendent, you will oversee contractor work both in Port‑Gentil and on‑site, ensuring safety, quality and schedule compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise contractor personnel and daily on‑site construction activities for piping, civil and structural works.
• Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with HSSE requirements.
• Monitor progress against project schedules and prepare detailed progress reports.
• Coordinate with Operations for work permits, site access and operational procedures.
• Verify civil foundation construction, structural steel fabrication, piping fabrication, installation, welding and protective coating works.
• Review and approve completed scopes, ensuring they meet contractual and technical specifications.
• Oversee inspection and testing activities, including NDT inspections, and validate inspection documentation.
• Manage non‑conformances, corrective actions and technical queries raised by contractors.
• Maintain comprehensive project records for close‑out, including as‑built documentation.

Required profile

• HNC qualification (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in oil and gas mechanical construction, civil and structural works.
• Proven experience supervising brown‑field construction projects.
• Fluency in English and French with strong communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work in multicultural, international project environments.
