Light Vehicle Driver

About the role

The Light Vehicle Driver provides safe and reliable transportation services for the United Nations Regional Office for Central Africa (UNOCA) in Libreville, supporting staff, visitors and logistics operations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver parcels, documents and mail between offices and external institutions.
• Collect and deliver goods from customs, handle minor purchases and payments.
• Drive assigned vehicles safely, including VIP and standby duties, and meet personnel at the airport.
• Perform day‑to‑day vehicle maintenance, minor repairs, fuel logging and ensure cleanliness.
• Assist workshop preparations for field trips and support accident‑report procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma; post‑secondary technical or vocational qualification in ground transport management is desirable.
• Minimum two years of safe driving experience, including armored vehicles.
• Fluent French (UN Level II); English at UN Level I is desirable.

Required skills

• Valid driver’s license for BCD categories.
• Knowledge of driving rules, road conditions and security awareness.
• Basic vehicle maintenance skills (checking oil, water, battery, brakes, tires).
