Legal Intern – Central Africa (Port‑Gentil, Gabon)

About the role

The Legal Intern will support SLB’s legal team in Central Africa, focusing on legal research, contract review and regulatory monitoring. This role provides practical exposure to the OHADA framework and compliance initiatives within the energy sector.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal research on laws and regulations applicable in Central African jurisdictions, including the OHADA framework.
• Assist in drafting, reviewing and proofreading contracts, agreements and legal correspondence.
• Maintain and update contract databases and legal trackers.
• Monitor and summarize regulatory developments in corporate, employment and digital/technology law.
• Support compliance and ethics initiatives, including internal trainings and documentation.
• Prepare legal memoranda, presentations and reports.
• Assist in managing litigation matters.
• Help with corporate governance tasks such as filings and record keeping.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and external counsel as required.
• Contribute to ongoing legal projects across the Central Africa region.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law (fresh graduates encouraged to apply).
• Familiarity with basic legal principles, frameworks and regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical and research abilities.
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated adaptability and learning agility in dynamic environments.
• Willingness to learn about legal processes, contract review, compliance and industry regulations.
