Lead Mechanical Engineer – Erection, Testing & Commissioning (CCPP)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to head the erection, pre‑commissioning, testing and commissioning of a 230 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) in Gabon. The role involves on‑site leadership, coordination with multiple disciplines and ensuring safe, on‑time delivery of mechanical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead erection, pre‑commissioning, testing and commissioning of Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, HRSG, BOP and auxiliary systems.
• Supervise installation, alignment, grouting and commissioning of rotating equipment such as BFP, CEP, cooling water pumps, compressors and vacuum pumps.
• Manage HRSG, high‑pressure steam systems, safety valves and other mechanical auxiliaries.
• Execute flushing, hydro‑testing, leak testing, trial runs and both cold and hot commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, C&I, OEMs and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution.
• Enforce HSE, PTW, LOTO, quality standards and project timelines.
• Act as Site In‑Charge in the Project Head’s absence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 18 years of experience in Combined Cycle / Thermal Power Plant projects.
• Proven experience in GT, ST and HRSG erection and commissioning.
• Strong background with large rotating equipment and high‑pressure steam systems.
• Ability to interpret P&ID, GA drawings and isometrics.
• Knowledge of ASME, API and ISO standards.
• Willingness to relocate to Gabon and work extended hours during peak phases.
