Director of Operations

About the role

Petrogas Gabon SA seeks a seasoned Director of Operations to lead and develop all operational activities in Port‑Gentil. The role combines technical competence with strong commercial insight to drive service quality, business performance, and regional expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement operational and maintenance processes across all service lines, ensuring efficiency, safety and quality.
• Organise day‑to‑day operations, overseeing technical, commercial and administrative functions.
• Guarantee commercial viability by managing customer satisfaction, cost control and revenue targets.
• Build and lead operational teams, providing coaching and training to maintain high service standards.
• Collaborate with sales to align services with market needs and maintain competitiveness.
• Identify growth opportunities and partnerships in line with the group’s global vision.
• Track performance using KPIs and data‑driven reporting to improve service delivery.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure compliance with HSE standards.
• Provide strategic input to align operations with corporate objectives.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (mechanical or industrial) or equivalent technical training.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in industrial operations management, preferably in oil & gas.
• Proven track record in technical operations, process development and team management.
• Strong commercial acumen, entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and intercultural sensitivity.
• Fluent in French and English at professional level.
• Willingness to relocate to Gabon.
