About the role
We are seeking a dynamic Community Outreach Specialist to act as the bridge between Dilulu and the communities we serve. You will promote our sustainable gardening, composting, e‑learning and workshop programmes, recruit participants and volunteers, and gather feedback to keep our initiatives relevant and impactful.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement outreach strategies for Dilulu’s programmes.
- Identify and build relationships with community leaders, schools, NGOs and potential partners.
- Organise and lead community meetings, presentations and information sessions.
- Recruit participants for workshops, volunteer opportunities and other activities.
- Create and distribute outreach materials (brochures, flyers, social‑media content) in collaboration with the communications team.
- Collect community feedback to inform programme design and improvement.
- Assist in planning and executing community events, garden workdays and workshops.
- Document outreach activities, interactions and success stories.
- Represent Dilulu at community events and forums.
- Collaborate with program coordinators to align outreach with programme goals.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Community Development, Social Work, Marketing, Environmental Studies or a related field.
- 2‑3 years of experience in community outreach, public relations, volunteer coordination or a similar role, preferably in the non‑profit sector.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse community groups.
- Excellent public‑speaking, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong writing ability for outreach materials.
- Experience organising events and community meetings.
- Familiarity with social‑media platforms for outreach.
- Interest in sustainable living, gardening and environmental issues.
- Fluency in French and English (both written and spoken); knowledge of local languages is a plus.
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel within assigned regions.
