Training Coordinator – Safety & Environment

About the role

The Training Coordinator will lead the design, delivery and administration of health, safety and environmental training programmes for the site in Gabon. Reporting to the Project Manager/Group Training Coordinator, the role ensures compliance with local regulations and Capital’s EHS policies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve on‑site training modules covering environment, health, safety and emergency response.
• Conduct competency‑based assessments, task observations and fire‑safety equipment training.
• Serve as the site Training Officer, overseeing hazardous material storage, usage monitoring and disposal.
• Prepare regular reports, recommend procedural changes and maintain detailed training records.
• Stay current with regulatory updates, fire‑safety codes and emerging EHS trends.

Required profile

• Tertiary education in occupational health, safety, environmental science or a related field.
• Proven experience organising resources, setting priorities and delivering presentations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to analyse processes and propose improvements.

Required skills

• Knowledge of hazardous material handling, storage, shipment and disposal procedures.
• Familiarity with local safety, health and environmental regulations.
• Experience in developing and delivering EHS training programmes.
• Understanding of fire‑prevention and safety equipment operation.
