Senior Crash Data Systems Expert

About the role

NTU International is seeking a Senior Crash Data Systems Expert to lead the design, integration, and management of road crash data systems for an EU‑funded technical assistance project supporting ECOWAS transport governance. The role will focus on building harmonised, interoperable crash data frameworks and evidence‑based road‑safety monitoring tools across West Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deploy integrated road crash data management systems.
• Provide technical assistance on crash data collection methods, database management, and interoperability frameworks.
• Integrate police, hospital, licensing, insurance and road‑infrastructure databases into unified platforms.
• Advise on harmonised crash data templates, data standards and road‑safety analytics methodologies.
• Create digital dashboards, reporting systems and monitoring tools for road‑safety performance.
• Prepare technical specifications, operational procedures, analytical reports and system assessments.
• Ensure data quality, validation mechanisms and evidence‑based decision‑making.
• Coordinate with transport institutions, police authorities, health agencies, ICT providers and development partners.
• Deliver workshops, technical training and capacity‑building activities.
• Support monitoring, reporting and analytical outputs related to crash data management.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in information systems, transport engineering, statistics, data analytics, road safety, public health or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in road‑safety data systems, information systems or transport analytics.
• At least 7 years of experience specifically with crash data systems, data interoperability or road‑safety observatories.
• Proven experience on transport or road‑safety projects in developing countries, preferably Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Experience with international development cooperation and donor‑funded programmes.
