Part‑time Clinical Research Cardiologist Physician

About the role

Alcanzaclinical is seeking a board‑certified cardiologist to serve as a Clinical Research Physician on a part‑time basis. You will lead daily trial activities at the Decatur site, ensuring participant safety and regulatory compliance while supporting multi‑phase studies across therapeutic areas.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure medical well‑being and safety of study participants in accordance with FDA, ICH, NIH, GCP, and HIPAA guidelines.
• Provide overall site leadership, focusing on efficiency, patient safety, and protocol compliance.
• Evaluate and enroll eligible participants, supporting recruitment and retention.
• Collaborate positively with sponsors, clients, and internal team members.
• Maintain accurate data records and participant information following protocol standards.
• Conduct protocol training for staff and participate in Investigator Meetings and continuing education.
• Perform additional duties as required by study protocols or company needs.

Required profile

• MD or DO degree with an active, good‑standing physician license in the state of practice.
• Board certification in Cardiology.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with high urgency and integrity.

Required skills

• Clinical cardiology procedures and patient assessment.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Comfort with web‑based applications.
• Typing speed of 40+ words per minute.
• English/Spanish bilingual capability.
