Geology Superintendent

About the role

The Geology Superintendent will report to the Exploration Manager and play a critical part in delivering the exploration work program for the Belinga project in Gabon. The role coordinates drilling, sampling and geological activities across three sites, ensuring safety, efficiency and alignment with company standards and project schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead delivery of the exploration program across three operating sites.
• Manage deployment and utilisation of geology personnel, rigs and supporting resources to meet approved work programs.
• Design and implement mapping, surface sampling and RC/core drilling campaigns.
• Integrate geological, geochemical and geophysical data into robust 3D models for target generation and decision‑making.
• Prepare and present progress reports, forecasts and schedule performance updates for management.
• Provide technical leadership to solve complex geological problems and de‑risk exploration decisions.
• Liaise with drilling, earthworks, HSE, logistics and other departments to ensure aligned execution.
• Lead strategic decision meetings and contribute to project strategy development.
• Ensure activities comply with company policies, QA/QC standards, land management and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Geology (Master's preferred).
• 10‑15 years of experience in the exploration or mining sector.
• 5+ years in a senior geology supervisory or superintendent role.
• Strong leadership, cross‑functional liaison and stakeholder management abilities.
• High personal integrity, professional discretion and adaptability to remote operations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS Pro.
• Experience using Field Maps.
• Knowledge of database platforms for geological data.
• Familiarity with IMDEX ioGAS.
• Ability to work with Seequent Leapfrog for 3D modelling.
