GCP Data Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a skilled GCP Data Engineer to design, implement, and manage enterprise‑grade database solutions on Google Cloud. You will work closely with enterprise customers to translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and high‑performance data architectures.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and operate databases using Google Cloud services such as Cloud SQL, Spanner, Bigtable, AlloyDB, and Firestore.
• Plan and execute complex data migrations from on‑premises or other clouds to GCP, applying best‑practice tools and methodologies.
• Diagnose performance issues, optimise queries, and implement backup, recovery, and high‑availability strategies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure solutions meet security and compliance standards.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Terraform and scripting languages (Python, Bash, Go).
• Support application integration by updating database connectivity code in Java, Python, and related ORMs.
• Design and validate replication, failover, multi‑region disaster‑recovery, and point‑in‑time recovery solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and operating cloud databases on Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong understanding of data migration strategies and performance tuning.
• Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and automation scripting.
• Ability to work with development teams to integrate databases into applications.
