Strategic Content and Storytelling Manager – Africa Region

About the role

The Strategic Content and Storytelling Manager will shape and drive the content vision, editorial strategy, and storytelling agenda for TNC’s Africa Region. Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications – Africa, the role will craft compelling narratives that showcase conservation impact, elevate partner and community voices, and deepen donor engagement across the continent.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and own the Africa content strategy and editorial calendar.
• Manage the end‑to‑end storytelling process, from story identification and field reporting to writing, editing, multimedia production, publishing, and performance analysis.
• Collaborate with conservation, policy, philanthropy, and marketing teams to ensure content aligns with organizational priorities.
• Partner with creative agencies, photographers, and videographers to produce high‑quality assets for nature.org, videos, blogs, podcasts, and photo stories.
• Ensure all storytelling is authentic, evidence‑based, and tailored to strategic stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong writer, editor, and producer with a proven portfolio of narrative work.
• Ability to translate complex conservation science and community‑based projects into clear, memorable stories.
• Experience reporting from African landscapes and working with partners, communities, and donor audiences.
• Excellent editorial judgment and capacity to manage content from idea through publication.
