Supply Chain & Materials Specialist Internship

About the role

The Supply Chain & Materials Specialist Intern will support SLB’s supply chain and warehouse operations in Port‑Gentil, Gabon. This internship offers hands‑on exposure to sourcing, procurement, inventory management and material handling, allowing the intern to apply academic knowledge to real‑world challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Support supplier management activities, including performance evaluation, onboarding and issue resolution.
• Assist in consolidating demand from product lines and operational centres.
• Participate in sourcing and procurement processes, gaining exposure to contract implementation and negotiation.
• Help with warehouse operations such as receiving, storing, issuing and tracking materials.
• Conduct inventory management tasks including cycle counts, stock reconciliation and data maintenance in the WMS.
• Monitor stock levels and contribute to initiatives to reduce excess, obsolete and slow‑moving inventory.
• Ensure documentation, labeling and compliance with company standards and local regulations.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement projects aimed at reducing waste of time, cost and resources.
• Support internal material transfers and coordination between warehouse, procurement and field teams.
• Adhere to SLB policies, safety standards and operational procedures.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business or a related field.
• Fresh graduates or students seeking practical industry exposure.
• Ability to learn quickly and apply new concepts to operational challenges.
• Strong adaptability and learning agility in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse functions.
• Proficiency in English (written, verbal and reading).

Required skills

• Experience or familiarity with a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
