Senior Design Engineer (On-site, Douala)

About the role

Dicalo Consulting Group is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join its on‑site team in Douala. You will lead the full design cycle for client projects, turning technical requirements into practical, cost‑effective solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end design and development of engineering solutions for diverse client projects.
• Plan and execute design concepts, producing detailed 2D/3D drawings and models.
• Validate designs through simulations, calculations, and material selection.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to ensure feasibility, quality, and compliance with standards.
• Manage project requirements, prepare technical documentation, and support proposal development with accurate estimates.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure adherence to industry codes and best practices.
• Collaborate closely with clients to translate their needs into robust engineering designs.

Required profile

• Strong background in design and product engineering, preferably in a consulting or manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in a senior or lead engineering role.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, standards, and client requirements.
• Excellent project and time‑management capabilities.
• Effective communication skills for multidisciplinary teamwork.
