Network Support Engineer (Hands & Feet)

About the role

We are looking for a Network Support Engineer who will provide hands‑and‑feet assistance at customer sites, enabling remote teams to troubleshoot and resolve network issues. The role combines physical rack work, console connectivity and basic configuration under the guidance of a Remote Support Team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform onsite physical tasks such as opening racks, locating devices/ports, power‑cycling equipment and verifying LED, link and alarm status.
• Connect to network devices (switches, routers, firewalls) via console cables and establish remote sessions as instructed.
• Mount, unmount and cable network devices following site safety rules and documented runbooks.
• Execute basic configuration steps (e.g., set management IP, VLAN) only when explicitly approved by the remote team.
• Validate post‑installation connectivity, patch‑panel layouts and label accuracy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT, Network Engineering or related field (preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure.
• Ability to follow detailed technical instructions and work independently on customer premises.
• Willingness to travel to client locations and work at heights (certificates required).

Required skills

• Basic networking concepts: TCP/IP, VLANs, switches, routers, firewalls.
• Experience with console connections and Cisco device handling.
• Knowledge of structured cabling, patch panels and cable testing.
• Proficiency with console software (PuTTY) and collaboration tools (MS Teams, Zoom, Webex).
• Possession of Cisco CCNA or equivalent certification is a plus.
