Laboratory Biosafety & Security Regional Trainer (Francophone Africa)

About the role

Labyrinth Global Health is seeking an experienced Laboratory Biosafety and Security Regional Trainer to deliver French‑language training across Francophone Africa. The position is home‑based with regular travel to Franceville, Gabon, to co‑deliver up to 40 training events over an eight‑year contract.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to Franceville for each assigned event and co‑deliver training alongside the Training Lead and local co‑instructor.
• Lead or co‑lead foundational courses covering general laboratory safety, BSL‑2 operations, biosecurity fundamentals, QA/QC, pathogen risk assessment, and Train‑the‑Trainer modules.
• Support BSL‑3 suite operational training under QA oversight, providing domain expertise.
• Prepare training segments, review curriculum materials, and develop event‑specific plans.
• Contribute observations and recommendations to Training Event Reports.
• Deliver all instruction in French and adapt facilitation to the CIRMF audience.
• Ensure compliance with USG training standards and Labyrinth quality requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering laboratory biosafety and biosecurity training.
• Fluent in French with the ability to travel throughout Francophone Africa.
• Strong knowledge of BSL‑2 and BSL‑3 laboratory operations.
• Familiarity with QA/QC processes, risk assessment, and emergency response drills.
