Laboratory Biosafety & Biosecurity Trainer (Gabon)

About the role

Labyrinth Global Health is seeking a Gabon‑based Laboratory Biosafety and Biosecurity Trainer/Co‑Instructor to support the delivery of foundational biosafety curricula under a multi‑year USG‑funded project at CIRMF in Franceville. The role is contract‑based, part‑time, and focuses on co‑facilitating training sessions and supporting a Train‑the‑Trainer program.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑deliver laboratory safety, BSL‑2 operations, biosecurity, QA/QC, pathogen risk assessment, and biosafety committee orientation courses alongside Labyrinth’s Training Lead.
• Model effective instructional techniques and assist in building CIRMF’s internal trainer cohort.
• Manage pre‑training logistics, including participant communication, supply preparation, and venue setup.
• Facilitate participant engagement, especially for culturally sensitive topics.
• Contribute observations to Training Event Reports and maintain professional relationships with CIRMF staff.

Required profile

• Gabon national with professional credibility in laboratory biosafety or related fields.
• Experience delivering technical training to laboratory personnel.
• Ability to travel to Franceville for training events and work collaboratively with international experts.
