International BSL-3 Training Specialist

About the role

Labyrinth Global Health seeks an International BSL-3 Training Specialist to deliver high‑containment laboratory biosafety certification courses in Franceville, Gabon. The role is contract‑based, supporting up to 12 five‑day certification events over an eight‑year period.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to Franceville, Gabon and lead or co‑lead each BSL‑3 certification course.
• Deliver curriculum aligned with U.S. Government (USG) standards, covering biosafety principles, biorisk assessment, incident response, emergency preparedness, and dual‑use research of concern (DURC) review.
• Design and facilitate practical exercises to ensure participants meet competency benchmarks under the Domain/Competency/Proficiency (DCP) framework.
• Co‑instruct with Train‑the‑Trainer (T3) partners, providing real‑time coaching and modeling.
• Prepare course materials in coordination with the Training Lead and review Training Event Plans.
• Contribute detailed performance assessments and recommendations to Training Event Reports.
• Conduct training in French or coordinate with French‑speaking SMEs; French proficiency strongly preferred.

Required profile

• Hands‑on operational experience in a BSL‑3 laboratory environment.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver technical training to adult learners.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally for each event.
• Strong command of English; French language skills highly desirable.
