Document Analyst (Remote)

About the role

The Document Analyst will remotely review and validate a wide range of documents – from government IDs and financial statements to legal contracts and medical forms – ensuring accuracy, authenticity and regulatory compliance. The role supports fraud detection and operational integrity for a global fintech‑focused organization.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze extracted data from diverse document types and confirm completeness of fields such as name, date and document number.
• Detect sophisticated fraud attempts, including photoshopped IDs, counterfeit documents and deep‑fake manipulations using forensic techniques.
• Handle edge cases involving damaged, non‑standard or foreign‑jurisdiction documents.
• Collaborate with policy, product and ML teams to refine annotation guidelines and improve OCR and data‑extraction models.
• Perform quality checks on annotations, maintain high inter‑annotator agreement and ensure compliance with KYC, AML, GDPR and eIDAS regulations.
• Identify workflow inefficiencies and propose tooling enhancements to reduce manual effort.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in document analysis, identity verification, KYC/AML operations or data extraction within fintech, legal‑tech or AI‑training environments.
• Deep knowledge of global identity, financial and legal documents and proven ability to spot advanced forgery techniques.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as KYC, AML, GDPR and eIDAS.

Required skills

• Proficiency with OCR software and document verification tools.
• Experience using annotation platforms for data labeling.
• Ability to work with structured data formats: JSON, XML and CSV.
