Legal Specialist - Oilfield Services & Equipment

About the role

This position is for a bilingual attorney who will support commercial and contract activities for an oilfield services and equipment business. The role works closely with global teams, business development, and the broader legal department to protect and advance the company’s strategic investments.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal reviews of contracts, identify risks, and ensure consistency between French and English versions.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including master service agreements, pricing contracts, job‑specific agreements, software licences, bids, tenders, NDAs and sub‑contracts.
• Manage legal operations initiatives such as outside‑counsel coordination and reporting on key legal performance metrics.
• Support external customer sales of products and services and government contracting activities.
• Provide practical legal advice to internal stakeholders and advise leaders on contract law and risk exposure.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in law from an accredited institution.
• At least 5 years of experience negotiating commercial contracts, with a minimum of 2 years in the oil & gas sector.
• Licensed to practice law.
• Fluent in both French and English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple matters, and support a global business.
