Supply Chain & Materials Specialist Internship

About the role

The Supply Chain & Materials Specialist Intern will gain hands‑on experience in sourcing, procurement, inventory management, and warehouse operations within SLB’s Port‑Gentil site. This role offers practical exposure to supplier management, material handling, and continuous‑improvement initiatives in a fast‑paced, global technology environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support supplier management activities, including performance evaluation, onboarding, and issue resolution.
• Assist in consolidating demand from product lines and operational centres.
• Participate in sourcing and procurement processes, observing contract implementation and negotiation practices.
• Help warehouse teams with receiving, storing, issuing, and tracking materials accurately.
• Conduct inventory tasks such as cycle counts, stock reconciliation, and data maintenance in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Monitor stock levels and contribute to initiatives that reduce excess, obsolete, and slow‑moving inventory.
• Ensure documentation, labeling, and compliance with company standards and local regulations.
• Support internal material transfers and coordination between warehouse, procurement, and field operations.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement projects aimed at reducing waste of time, cost, and resources.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business or a related field.
• Fresh graduates or students seeking practical industry exposure.
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and apply new concepts to real operational challenges.
• Strong adaptability and learning agility in a fast‑paced environment.
• Effective teamwork and communication skills across diverse teams.
• Proficiency in English (written, verbal, reading).
